The “1,600 Pandas World Tour” was first launched in 2008 by the WWF and acclaimed French artist Paulo Grangeon crafted 1,600 pandas – to mark the number of pandas left in the wild at the time – from paper mache. The pandas were then exhibited in some 100 locations in different countries such as France, Italy, Germany, Hong Kong, Malaysia and South Korea.
The 1,600 Pandas World Tour will also go on display at Central Embassy from March 24 to April 10 and will feature activities such as a panda workshop and panda adoption, as well as offer souvenirs. All proceeds will be donated to the WWF Thailand for wildlife conservation in the Kingdom. Details can be found at www.facebookp, deputy governor for TAT’s tourism products and business, said, “Not only can locals and tourists get excited about the adorable pandas, they can experience the wonderful landmarks around Thailand. We are very proud that this world-class artist considers Thailand a top world destination to display his work. We believe this activity will definitely cement Thailand’s reputation as a top tourist destination and encourage more people to visit.”
