Thailand’s national parks returning to usual open/closed schedules

Thailand’s national parks. The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) would like to advise that accessibility to Thailand national parks- in terms of their open/closed status – is now returning to the usual pre-pandemic schedules with visitors once again being able to enjoy their natural beauty and abundant flora and fauna.

The status of Thailand’s national parks – whether they are open, closed or partially-open – is again now based on the annual monsoon season and other annual factors, such as weather conditions.

Visitors to should note that guidelines and rules for visiting the national parks have been adjusted to the new normal situation, and they should strictly abide by these for the health and safety of everyone.

And that there is now a ban on the bringing into and use of single-use plastics and foam containers at any of the 155 national parks in Thailand. Plastic food containers, plastic glasses, plastic straws, plastic spoons and forks, plastic packaging, such as plastic handles, and foam containers – essentially any item that is used one time and then thrown away – is prohibited with a maximum fine for violations of up to 100,000 Baht under the National Parks Act B.E. 2562 (2019).

As of 23 May, 2022, the National Park’s Office on its Facebook page: National Parks of Thailand lists 137 national parks as open, of the 155 nationwide.

The following list of national parks and their current opening/closed/partially-opened status is subject to change without prior notice. As such, travellers are recommended to keep a frequent watch on the list regularly updated by the National Park’s Office via this link, or by going to the Facebook page: National Parks of Thailand.

Kindly note that this update presents the list of national parks region-by-region (Central, Eastern, Northern, and Southern), province-by-province, and in alphabetical order.

CENTRAL REGION Thailand’s National Parks

Kanchanaburi

Chaloem Rattanakosin National Park – Open with some closed attractions or activities.

Erawan National Park – Open.

Khao Chang Phueak hiking trail – Closed.

Khao Kamphaeng hiking trail – Closed.

Khao Khiao – Khao Yai hiking trail (Son Nok Wua) – Closed.

Doi Inthanon National Park – Open. Kio Mae Pan will be closed from 1 June 2022 until 31 October 2022.

Doi Wiang Pha National Park – Closed and will reopen 1 October 2022.

Huai Nam Dang National Park – Open and will be closed 1 May 2022 until 30 September 2022.

Khun Khan National Park – Open.

Si Lanna National Park – Open. Doi Mon Lan will be closed from 1 April 2022 until 30 September 2022. Nam Tok Mon Hin will be closed 1 July 2022 until 30 September 2022.
