Thailand Info Top 5 bugs you should eat in Thailand. It might seem a little strange and even disgusting to eat insects but in Thailand it’s quite common. Thai locals eat bugs like Americans eat corn chips. They can be a great snack when on the go.

A lot of the time, insects can be found on carts lined along tourist streets. Many foreigners don’t find the idea of eating them appealing, but they’ll still try them none the less, just to have a story to tell back home.

Here is a list of the top 5 insects you should try:

  1. Scorpions

Eating scorpions might seem dangerous and insane and that’s precisely why you should try them. You probably won’t get sick from eating them, but be warned, they’re extremely hard and not very tasty.

  1. Spiders

An arachnid you should try, simply because a friend dares you. Spiders are scary enough when alive, putting a dead one in your mouth is truly an exhilarating experience.

  1. Crickets

Fried crickets are surprisingly tasty, especially when sprayed with flavor additives. A good alternative to corn chips.

  1. Silk worms

They’re not only good for making durable, fashionable clothing, they’re also good as a delicious snack.

  1. Grasshoppers

Much like crickets, grasshoppers make a great little snack. Buy a bag of them and munch away.
